CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to the Wirral League team who secured their second successive promotion as they finished second in Division Two.

The team will play in the top division this season after pipping Neston 2 to promotion by a single point. They were third going into the final match of the season away against Prenton 2 but the 11-7 win was enough to earn the runners up spot.

That could be the first of four promotions if things continue to go according to plan, with the A team vying for promotion in the Chester Mixed League, while the B team are top with two games to play and the men's first team could finish second in Division 2.

In the Chester Mixed League second division the A team finished second but are still waiting to see if they will go up.Only the top side are guaranteed promotion with the other dependant on numbers for next season.

There was better news for the B team who won the third division and secured their promotion back to the second division.

As far as the winter league goes we're now half way through the season and all teams are doing well.
